Wilkes Weightlifting Seminar Winners
The winners of the contest to attend the Wilkes seminar this weekend are Chip and Felise.  We enjoyed all the essays and any could have been the winner.  We had to resort to “drawing” the winners.  We put all you that submitted essays names’ into a hat and pulled the winners.  Congrats and enjoy!

Learning a new sport pays off dividends for your health.  Your brain and body loves to learn.  Take time away from from work, home, and even the gym to get the full benefits of teaching your body and mind a new skill.
Coastal North Carolina is blessed with so many water sports.  We’ve plenty of folks that dive, spear fish, paddle board, swim, and kayak the waters surrounding us.  Any of them would love to have new interest their sport.
We have large number of TriAthletes that train each morning.  Tri’s are easy to get into and are offered in distances any begginer can enjoy.
DC is pictured to the left at the range.  There are pistol and rifle competitions at Ant Hill Range in South Port each month.  Shooting teaches so many physical skills.  Simply making a bullet go where you’d like takes much control.
In Wilmington, there are always intramural sports to get into.  Our Kickball team was certainly fun…  though I’m not sure we learned much!  And let’s not forget the Volleyball team.  Ha.
Walking into a sport that you’re not familiar with can be intimidating, even scary.  I’ve heard CrossFit Wilmington can appear a little larger than it is at first.  But you got over that and figured out CFW wasn’t the least bit scary.  It’s the same in any sport.
Mastery of any task comes most quickly when you learn the technique, add intensity, increase volume.  There has to be something you always wanted to do…  so get to it.

Headed to Colorado to climb for 10 days. Nothing crazy this year, just 8 mountains and 35,000 feet of altitude gain. See you soon.

Learn something new! AWESOME! I can’t wait to go shooting with you guys some day when our schedules align…. When I saw those pics I got so excited that I chipped a tooth!
NOW, as for another something that is new to learn,….I have some padded sticks, knives, gloves, and goggles in my “bag o death” that when combined equal an awesome flurry of loud smacks, laughter, and bruises! Perhaps next week we could set up a little sparring match between Josh and Tony? Perhaps, Dawn and Julie? Let me know guys, it’s a LOT OF FUN!….and only a little painful ;)

I thought WordPress was another Oly lift I haven’t learned yet. That being said, the \Something New\ I want to learn is this RSS reader. Shawn, I installed the Reader, but my computer is acting like it owes \Freely\ some money. It says it never heard of it. Also, how do I keep the updates from being sent to my email? Thank you for the impromptu class this morning. CFW has it all!!

Good times. Trip sounds awesome Scott.

@Rosie – Not “Freely”….. “Feedly”. http://www.feedly.com It is a plugin for either Firefox of Chrome browsers. If you don’t use either of those browsers you can always just use http://www.google.com/reader/ if you have a gmail account.
